CENTAC MCA

The CENTAC MCA Entrance exam is conducted on an annual basis by the Pondicherry Engineering College. On the basis of this examination, eligible candidates are selected for taking admission in the various MCA courses. For the the session 2018-19 the candidates will find this information very useful. CENTAC MCA CET is actually the abbreviation of the most popular entrance exam of Pondicherry that is undertaken by the Pondicherry Engineering College. The number of seats under Puducherry quota is 23 and only 7 seats are available for all the other states.

CENTAC MCA 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have secured 55% of marks or above in the following are eligible for this exam- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Applications / Commerce / Corporate Secretaryship / Economics / Business Administration (with Mathematics / Business Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications as one of the subjects)

OR

(ii) Bachelor s Degree in Science with Mathematics / Statistics as one of the subjects.
For this examination, all the candidates should have a degree in either BCA, BSc etc. from any recognized institution. It is compulsory to have Maths in standard 12. All applying candidates for this exam should be Indians. However, there is an exception for French nationals who are residing in Puducherry as long as they are covered under the Treaty of Cession.

Through Demand Draft
For the General Category Rs.1000 (plus Rs. 65 as postal charges has to be paid by the candidate). For candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories, Rs.500/- (plus Rs. 65 as postal charges). The same can be paid in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of The Convenor, CENTAC-PG (payable at Puducherry).

Application Form CENTAC MCA 2018

There are 2 ways to get the application form for the CENTAC MCA 2018. The first would be the offline mode where the candidate has the option to buy the application form from the colleges. Once purchased, they have to fill up this application form and ensure that there is no room for error. Then it has to be sent out along with DD to the provided address along with other documents. It can also be submitted at the university office. Filled-in application forms along with all necessary enclosures is to be sent to:

You have to make sure that you download the admit card from the CENTAC MCA website. It is available as an Admission Ticket via online mode. Download the same and keep with you for entering the examination hall.

CENTAC MCA-CET 2018 Exam Pattern

The CENTAC MCA-CET 2018 will comprise of 90 questions that are objective type. The candidates have only 2hours to make sure that all the topics are covered.

Mathematics (Ancillary level) 20 questions
Analytical Ability 20 questions
Logical Reasoning 15 questions
Comprehensive verbal ability 15 questions
General awareness in Computer Science 20 questions

Total 90 questions
Each correct answer carries 4 marks. For any incorrect answer and multiple answers there will be a negative marking of 1 mark.
